This event will be free and open to the public. The next work session is Wednesday, September 24, from 6:30 to 8:30p.m., and we need more of you to help with organizing this special day. Please join us. In the process of creating this festival, we have fun, gain friends, and promote harmony. A Month of Sundays for September

August 21st, 2008

September 7 — Revs. Kerry Mueller and Dave Hunter
“Deeper Well” (our annual intergenerational Gathering of the Waters)
We will celebrate the opening of our congregational year with a special ritual, pouring water from our summer travels (geographic or metaphoric), a story for all ages, and a short homily. Be sure to collect and bring a small amount of water from your summer journey, but if you forget, don’t worry, we’ll have plenty available. (We won’t drink the collected water but share it with a tree.) The Adult Choir will sing.

September 14 — The Rev. Susan Smith, District Executive of the Southwest Unitarian Universalist Conference.
Susan will help us look at ourselves and our future, and bring greetings and inspiration from the Unitarian Universalist world beyond our modest realm. The Adult Choir will sing.

September 21 — Rev. Dave Hunter
“The Mystery Within Us Reaching Out to the Mystery Beyond”
Dave speculates about why as Unitarian Universalists we come together Sunday mornings as a worshiping community.

September 28 — Rev. Kerry Mueller
“Not Hell, But Hope”
In the 1980’s, Unitarian Universalists created a statement of purposes and principles. This year Rev. Kerry will offer a series of sermons on this statement, beginning with “the inherent worth and dignity of every person.” The Generations Choir (intergenerational, all ages invited) will sing.

October 5 — Rev. Dave Hunter
“What Is the Name of This Child?
Dave provides an introduction to our Unitarian Universalist dedication or welcoming ceremony for infants and young children. Dave reports that his parents had him baptized when he was a baby, and asks what is it that we do as Unitarian Universalists? (Two Sundays later, we will have a child dedication ceremony.)
